MDEQ grants to help with solid waste enforcement

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two north Mississippi government groups will receive financial help to deal with illegal dumping.

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality will provide a $6,750 grant to help the city of Starkville hire a solid waste enforcement officer.

Webster County will receive an MDEQ grant of $11,524 to help with the clean up of illegal dump sites.

The funds are made available for education, enforcement, and cleanup across the state.
