EUPORA, Miss. (WTVA) -- The State Fire Marshall's Office says the fire that swept through downtown Eupora buildings is ruled an accident.

Webster County Public Information Officer Jimmy Forrester says he received that information just last week.

Officials have not yet been given specific information as to how the fire started, but that report will be received in the near future.

As for the future, it is not yet known what will become of the historic buildings.

"(I) Haven't heard anyone say if they were gonna build those businesses back, I think there's probably two to three owners," said Webster County Public Information Officer Deputy Jimmy Forrester.

The fire was reported Saturday, July 5.

Several fire department responded to the 5 p.m. blaze.
