NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will look into a shooting involving a Union County deputy Christmas night.
Sheriff Jimmy Edwards said deputies responded to a call about gunshots being fired during a domestic dispute on County Road 51 near Myrtle.
Clyde Bailey, 62, was shot twice while on the porch of the home.
Two women, inside the home at the time of the shooting, were not injured.
Bailey's brother Alex lives next door and said he only heard the gunshots of police.
"We were sitting in the house watching television and I heard two shots and I got and I saw police all out here on the roadside," said Bailey.
He said he then saw his brother down on the porch.
"They were trying to get him to hold his hands up like he might of had something," said Bailey.
Edwards said a gun was recovered from the home, but did not say whether Baily had a weapon on him during the shooting.
He did say there was no exchange of gunfire.
The name of the deputy has not been released.
