NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two men face charges following a brief pursuit with a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper Thursday afternoon.
An MHP spokesperson says the pursuit started around 4 p.m. when the trooper stopped to investigate a vehicle parked in a business in Myrtle.
Following a brief chase, two men jumped from the vehicle and attempted to get away on foot.
One was arrested quickly, but the other hit the woods and Union County deputies located him about two hours later.
Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards says Loranzo Lanaz Spencer, 35, of Holly Springs will face charges in his county because authorities found marijuana at the time of his arrests.
The driver of the vehicle, Royle Strickland, Jr., 34, of Ashland, will face misdemeanor charges in relation to the pursuit.
