TORRENCE, Cal. (WTVA) -- Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. reports monthly sales continue to climb in the U. S.
Company officials say the automaker sold 207,952 units in May 2013, up 2.5 percent on both an unadjusted raw volume and daily selling rate basis.
They say the month provides great momentum as the company moves into its summer selling season.
Bill Fay, TMS vice president, says a five-year high in consumer confidence translates into strong retail sales.
Toyota officials say sales of North American-built Corollas were down 9.1 percent during the period.
The company is getting ready to launch a new style for the Corolla later this year.
