NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) -- One New Albany group says they are very close to landing financial assistance to build ten new tennis courts in the city.

Jo Lynn Cook with the New Albany Community Tennis Association says they have received a letter granting tentative approval for a $20,000 grant from the U. S. Tennis Association's Facility Assistance Program

She says the application included several criteria, including technical specifications for how the courts should be built.

Cook says there is some additional paperwork that must be completed to finish the process to get the grant.

She says the money will be used to help pay for the expansion of the existing tennis complex at BNA Bank Park.
