TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- American Red Cross Northeast Mississippi Chapter is responding to Thursday morning's severe weather in Union County.
With reports of strong winds and a possible tornado in Union County, emergency response vehicles are providing snacks, water and tarps for the members of the affected communities in that county.
Staff and volunteer teams are also in the area providing client case work with assistance for displaced families.
"The Red Cross has issued a Disaster Assessment Team (DAT) call, and our outreach volunteers and staff are assessing the damage to determine the communities needs," said Patty Tucker, Chapter Manager. "Outreach teams will also determine client service delivery, including food, shelter and clothing for people with emergency or immediate needs."
