JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Union County man has lost his efforts to have his conviction and sentence on drug charges thrown out on appeal.

Carlos Ivy, 30, is serving a 15 year sentence for possession of cocaine and child endangerment following a guilty plea in Union County Circuit Court.

Ivy appealed claiming his sentence was longer than allowed under state law, his sentence was illegal, his plea was involuntary, and he was the subject of an illegal search and seizure.

On Tuesday, the Mississippi Court of Appeals denied his appeal.
