JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Union County man has once again lost his effort to have his conviction and sentence on drug charges thrown out on appeal.

Carlos Ivy, 30, is serving a 15 year sentence for possession of cocaine and child endangerment following a guilty plea in Union County Circuit Court in 2010.

Ivy appealed claiming his sentence was longer than allowed under state law, his sentence was illegal and his plea was involuntary.

He also claims he was the subject of an illegal search and seizure.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld his conviction in December.

On Thursday, the Mississippi Supreme Court dismissed a petition asking justices to reveiw his case.
