MYRTLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- One person is in custody and the search is on for a second man after a narcotics investigation lead to the discovery of a cockfighting ring in Union County.
Sheriff Jimmy Edwards say the discovery was made Friday night at a home on County Road 67 in western Union County.
Edwards says the Tupelo/Lee Humane Society responded to the home and removed nearly two-dozen chickens from the home.
Authorities apparently also found a nine millimeter handgun and over a pound of marijuana.
Edwards say they are searching for Oscar Rodriguez in connection with the case.
He says Rodriguez should be considered armed and dangerous.
