JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Belmont woman has been arrested and charged with hiring someone to kill her husband.
A Mississippi Bureau of Investigations spokesperson says Mary Elizabeth Newman, 35, was arrested Wednesday.
Her arrest comes after a week-long investigation.
Authorities say they developed information about the plan and arrested Newman in Tupelo.
She is charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
She is currently being held in the Lee County jail on a one million dollar bond.
