IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) — One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Tishomingo County Tuesday morning.

MHP Corporal Ray Hall says an SUV driven by Christopher Littlejohn, 26, and an 18-wheeler driven by Clive Carvey, 52, collided near the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway 172 east of Iuka around 6:30 a.m.

Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon says Littlejohn was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Carvey was uninjured.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 72 were closed for nearly two hours and traffic was routed through the weigh station while the investigation and cleanup was underway.

The accident remains under investigation.
