IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Officials with Dennen Steel Corp. say a new manufacturing facility at Yellow Creek will create 50 new jobs for the area.

State and local officials celebrated the official opening of the 50,000-square foot structure Tuesday.

A news release from Gov. Phil Bryant's office states the Iuka plant will process steel coils into stampings, fabricated metal parts and assemblies.

"The investment and jobs being created by Dennen Steel are further proof that Mississippi works, and the company's decision to locate here will positively impact the community and the state as a whole." Bryant said in the release.

The project represents an investment of $7.4 million for the company, which is based in Grand Rapids, Mich.
