MDEQ awards grant money

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality has awarded Tishomingo County a solid waste assistance grant of $14,606 that will be used by the county to clean up illegal dump sites.

MDEQ has also awarded the city of Winona a solid waste assistance grant of $14,695 that will be used by the city for wood waste recycling efforts.

“The Solid Waste Assistance Grants support a variety of useful solid waste management activities for cities and counties, and this grant will assist Tishomingo County’s efforts in improving their management of solid waste,” said Trudy D. Fisher, MDEQ Executive Director.
