TISHOMINGO COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- An inmate has been apprehended and arrested at a home near Golden after being sought by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for absconding supervision, according to the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say a tip led authorities to a home on Highway 366 near Golden on Friday afternoon.

Upon arrival, deputies located and arrested Timothy Summers, 29, who had previously been convicted on burglary charges out of Itawamba County.

MDOC had been trying to locate Summers for absconding supervision, meaning he violated his sentence at a state restitution center.

Deputies say Summers signed out from the center and did not return.

He had been considered an at-large suspect since that time, according to MDOC.

Summers remains in the Tishomingo County Jail until he can be transferred back to the restitution center.
