BURNSVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — State and local officials plan to be on hand Monday for the groundbreaking of the new Mississippi Silicon plant.
It's described as a $200 million project that will create 200 jobs and produce silicon metal for a variety of industries.
It's also the same project that was proposed for Lowndes County in 2011 but never materialized.
Company officials say it will take 18 to 20 months for the Burnsville plant to be operational.
