NEW ORLEANS, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Tishomingo County man has lost his attempt to have his life sentence in a rape and sexual battery case overturned.

Merlin Hill, 51, pleaded guilty to capital rape and sexual battery in 1998 to charges.

The original indictment says Hill took photos of the rape of a juvenile and sent them out on the internet.

He has filed several appeals involving the sentence and his guilty plea, but they have been denied.

The Fifth District Court of Appeals denied the latest appeals late last week.
