COTTON PLANT, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Blue Mountain woman suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident on Highway 15 Friday morning.

A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson says Margaret Medlin, 61, was traveling south on Highway 15 in Cotton Plant when she apparently turned in front of a semi-truck driven by Danny Sanders, 43, of Booneville.

Sanders truck, which was not pulling a trailer, collided with the passengers side of Medlin's vehicle.

Medlin was airlifted from the scene with life-threatening injuries.

Sanders was not injured.

The spokesperson says both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 142.

Troopers are continuing their investigation.
