Testimony to begin Tuesday in capital murder trial

RIPLEY, Miss. (WTVA) --  Jury selection is expected to be finished in the trial of a man accused in the shooting death of a Tippah County sheriff's deputy.

Jury selection began Monday morning in Kosciusko in the capital murder trial of Franklin Fitzpatrick, 28, of Pontotoc.

Fitzpatrick is accused in the shooting death of Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw.

Crenshaw was responding to a disturbance call on County Road 500 in Tippah County around 4 a.m. on December 3, 2010.

The judge ordered the jury to be picked from Attala County.

Authorities tells WTVA.com they expected to have the jury selected and for the trial to move to the Lafayette County Courthouse in Oxford on Tuesday for testimony.
