TIPPAH COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — You don't often hear about a plant shutting down operations to celebrate, but it happened Wednesday just north of Blue Mountain.

Employees at the Profile Products plant were recognized for going 1 million hours on the job without anyone losing time due to a workplace injury.

The company's president says there are a couple of benefits to this — it's good for employees and good for business.

"You don't have to replace employees that have been hurt," said John Schoch, Profile Products president and CEO.  "You don't have insurance claims on employees that have been hurt."

About 45 people work at the plant which turns clay into a ceramic that's used on ballfields to absorb water.
