BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA/NEMCC Athletics) – Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball coach Kent Farris announced the signing of Germantown, Tenn., native Blake Drabik on Thursday. Drabik inked with the Tigers at a signing ceremony at Houston High School's library in front of family and friends to become the newest member of the 2013 signing class.

Drabik is a right-handed pitcher for the Mustangs and will bring his arm to Booneville for the 2014 season.

“Blake is a great kid and comes in well-coached and from a place that is full of good people,” Farris said. “We are very excited about signing Blake and we think he will be successful here at the next level.”

Drabik led his team to the state championship in 2010, where the Mustangs finished as the runners-up.

“Blake is a hard worker here for us and we know he will do the same at the next level,” said Houston High School head coach Lane McCarter. “This was a big day for Blake and we are all very proud of him.”

Drabik’s hard work paid off last season as a junior for the Mustangs. Drabik posted an overall record of (3-1) on the mound, striking out 20 batters in 22 innings pitched. The righty also posted an impressive 1.24 earned run average and finished the year with a 0.97 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched).
