NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - Nettleton girls basketball player Shauntina Collier signed with Hinds Community College Friday afternoon.
"It makes me feel good," Collier told WTVA. "[It] makes me thank God that he gave me another opportunity to play ball and it's something to look forward to."
Collier averaged 14 points a game as a senior to go along with 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals a game for the Lady Tigers. Those numbers followed up on impressive junior season numbers, when Collier averaged 12 points, 3 assists, 3 boards and 3 steals a game.
Collier says that she expects attending a college that is away from home to be a new and fun experience.
"I went to try out, and I walked the campus a little bit. At first, it started off like, 'This is in the country.' But then, when you get to the campus, it's real nice down there."
