TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Mississippi State is ranked No. 12 in the first BCS Rankings, unveiled Sunday evening. The Southeastern Conference owns both the No. 1 and No. 2 rankings in the inaugural BCS Rankings, as well as four of the top seven spots.

Alabama is the No. 1 team in the rankings, with Florida placed at No. 2 ahead of Oregon. The BCS Rankings are made up of the Harris Poll, the Coaches' Poll and the computer rankings (all three are valued equally) - only the computers have the Gators ranked ahead of the Ducks.

Kansas State (No. 4) and Notre Dame (No. 5) round out the BCS Top 5.

LSU (No. 6) and South Carolina (No. 7) are the other SEC teams in the Top 10, while Georgia (No. 11) and Mississippi State (No. 12) are just outside the Top 10.

The Bulldogs are (6-0) and bowl-eligible after a 41-31 victory over Tennessee on Saturday night. After their homecoming game against Middle Tennessee State on Oct. 20, Mississippi State travels to Tuscaloosa to take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

Texas A&M is the last SEC team in the Top 25, coming in at No. 18.
