BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Testimony is underway in trial of a woman charged in the shooting death of her mother.

Rebecca Lynn Jones, 48, of Lexington, Alabama was arrested after Jane Jones, 66, was shot to death at a home on Highway 4 in Prentiss County in May of 2010.

Authorities says Jane Jones was shot in the arm and stomach, but was able to call 9-1-1.

Investigators say Jones told dispatchers she had been shot by her daughter.

She died a short time later at a Tupelo hospital.

Rebecca Jones was charged with murder in her death.

The trial is expected to last through Thursday in Prentiss County Circuit Court.
