UPDATE: Guilty verdict in capital murder trial

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A jury in Prentiss County found a man guilty of capital murder Friday.

Charles Burleson of Tupelo was on trial for the May 2010 robbery and murder of Steven Holley of Thrasher.

Holley was hit in the head during the robbery and died a in a Tupelo hospital a few days later.

Burleson and Jeremy Huguley of Rienzi were arrested and charged with capital murder.

Huguley will be tried at a later date.

The prosecution rested its case against Burleson on Wednesday, and the defense rested its case Thursday without calling any witnesses.

Friday afternoon, the judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
