BELMONT, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two people are in custody following a high-speed chase in Prentiss and Tishomingo County Thursday morning.

Tishomingo County authorities tell WTVA.com the chase started in Prentiss County after someone notified law enforcement about a man under the influence about to leave a convenience store.

An off-duty deputy approached the vehicle and the chase began around 9 a.m.

The driver lead authorities on a chase down Highway 4, Highway 25, and County Road 17.

At one point, he slowed and a woman got out of the vehicle.

The chase ended in Belmont shortly after the driver's car hit a Belmont Police car.

No one was injured during the chase.

The man and woman were both arrested and taken to the Prentiss County jail.

Belmont and Tishomingo County authorities say they will also have charges in the case.

Authorities say the Mississippi Department of Corrections has a warrant for the man for failure to report to his probation officer in Lee County.
