BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Times are changing.
That's the word from Booneville Director of Public Property and Code Ronny Johnson.
He says the city has permits for 27 construction projects totaling over $4 million.
Johnson says this past summer and winter was the slowest time in the past six years for residential construction in Boonevile.
Johnson says the city did not sell any permits for new homes between August, 2012 and April, 2013.
During that time commercial construction began showing a rebound.
"We went through a terribly slow time last winter. As a matter of fact, it was the slowest time for new permits since 2009 when the recession started," Johnson said.
New projects include six new homes, five commercial projects and four major additions.
