BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Joint state, federal, and local saturation by law officers in Prentiss County ended with arrests and the discovery of a meth lab Thursday night.
Investigators say they made 32 arrests during Operation Last Defense.
Authorities say 16 of the arrests involved felony warrants, mostly for drug violations.
A meth lab was also uncovered during a home inspection.
Troopers, deputies, police officers, and Prentiss County Constables issued 170 traffic citations, including two DUI's and 5 misdemeanor drug arrest.
The saturation also included 24 safety checkpoints in Booneville, Baldwyn and across Prentiss County during the five hour operation.
The saturation was the result of three months of planning and included 60 officers from the US Marshall's Fugitive Task Force, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Department of Corrections, North Mississippi Narcotics, Prentiss County Sheriff's Department, Booneville Police Department, and the Prentiss County Constables.
