Man pleads guilty to leaving scene of fatal accident

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Corinth man has pleaded guilty to to charges in connection with a traffic accident that claimed the life of
a Prentiss County school administrator.

Dylan King, 21, entered a guilty plea to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality.

Authorities say King turned into Valerie Jo's Restaurant on N. Second Street in Booneville in August of 2012 and pulled into the path of Jimmy W. Senter of Booneville.

Senter's vehicle collided with King's then traveled into the parking lot of the restaurant and struck two other vehicles.

Jason McKinney, 36, died of injuries suffered in the accident.

Authorities say King left the scene of the accident and abandoned his vehicle on County Road 1040 in Prentiss County.

Following the guilty plea Thursday, King was sentenced to six years in prison and five years probation.
