PRENTISS, Miss. (WTVA) -- Authorities say a man wanted for allegedly hitting a Prentiss police officer with a car is in custody.
Prentiss police and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation were on the lookout for 38-year-old Andreas Deone Shackleford of Hillsboro, Alabama, after the incident occurred Saturday night at the intersection of Mississippi Highway 13 and U.S. Highway 84.
Law enforcement say the officer was treated for injuries at a hospital and later released.
Shackleford turned himself in to authorities Tuesday and is currently being held in the Jefferson Davis County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
Authorities say Shackleford is charged with aggravated assault.
