MARIETTA, Miss. (WTVA)--  Some North Mississippi students had a special 4-legged guest stop by their school.

A calf from a local Dairy Farm made an appearance at Mariette School, to help celebrate World School Milk Day.

The annual holiday is celebrated internationally and brings attention to the importance of milk in a child's diet while simultaneously celebration the work of Dairy Farmers.

"We are working to educate and make sure everyone is aware that their food actually comes from a farm. It doesn't come from the grocery store- it has to originate from a farm and there are farmers who work hard to produce that for them everyday," said , Carla Taylor a local Dairy Farmer.
