MARIETTA, Miss. (WTVA) -- One local pastor is keeping a watchful and hopeful eye after Super Typhoon Haiyan moved ashore in the Phillipines.

Pastor Ray Hall with the East Marietta Baptist Church founded an orphanage, Rosemary's Home of Hope, in Leyte.

He says the eye of the massive storm system moved over the orphanage.

Halls says he lost contact with workers around 5 p.m. Thursday night and has been unable to get any information.

He says they currently house 21 children at the orphanage.

He says 30 families had sought shelter in the dining hall as the storm approached.
