Capital murder case heading to the jury

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A jury will begin deliberations today in a Prentiss County capital murder case.

Charles Burleson of Tupelo is on trial for the May 2010 robbery and murder of Steven Holley of Thrasher.

Holley was hit in the head during the robbery and died a in a Tupelo hospital a few days later.

Burleson and Jeremy Huguley of Rienzi were arrested and charged with capital murder.

Huguley will be tried at a later date.

The prosecution rested its case against Burleson on Wednesday, and the defense rested its case Thursday without calling any witnesses.
