BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- The search is on for summer job applicants in Booneville.
Parks and Recreation Director Brent Mauney says he usually hires a maximum of 60 people to fill positions in his department.
Most of the workers tend to be high school students at least fifteen years of age.
Some of those hired may be able to work up to the month of November.
That's when the last of the sporting events are held at the city park.
"Sometimes I tell them they are just as important as the umpires that are on the field. Everybody wants to win and you don't want their score to be wrong," Mauney said.
Anyone who wants to apply should stop by the Booneville City Hall or the Parks and Recreation office at the Booneville City Park.
Job announcements will be made in early April.
