BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA)-- Expansion was celebrated Tuesday in Prentiss County.

"It's so exciting to see an existing business like ACCO, the largest office supply company in the world, expanding," Said Governor Phil Byrant.

The company announced Tuesday it will expand to 162 jobs at its Booneville location.

"All the work that we're celebrating today is in customer care," said Matthew Kiesling, ACCO Brands VP Inside Sales and Customer Care.

Booneville Mayor Derrick Blythe says the company has been deeply rooted in the area for over 40 years.

"They believe in our community. They believe in our work force and that means a whole lot," said Mayor Blythe.

Both State and Local officials participated in the ribbon cutting.

"What we are cutting the ribbon on today, it's kind of the reimagined workspace. We are going from an old traditional cubicle setting, which you can see behind me, to a more modernized work space," said Kiesling.

Governor Byrant says today's expansion announcement illustrates why Mississippi is Number 9 in the nation for economic development opportunities- as more and more companies recognize we are not only great in manufacturing, but also in customer service.
