PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two suspects arrested following a daylong manhunt in Pontotoc County made their initial court appearance Thursday.
The two men were Preston Copeland, 22, and Donale Brown, 26.
Law enforcement says that the two men were found in a trailer Wednesday after a tip to police.
"These guys broke into Sherman Pharmacy, and Sherman police had gave chase to them. And they wound up in Pontotoc County. We did a search of a residence yesterday after several agencies came out to help search for them. We've been in the woods since 2:30 yesterday morning, and we got them around 5:30 p.m.," said Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask.
Mask said while in the woods hiding from law enforcement, Brown was actually attacked by a deer. The sheriff added that Copeland had to use a stick to ward off the deer while Brown climbed up a tree to hide.
And we're told by the sheriff that they were out on probation when they were arrested.
Both men are charged with multiple felony offenses, including burglary of a commercial building, felony malicious mischief and felony fleeing.
