PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)-- Three people are behind bars and charged with breaking into seven homes over the past week in Pontotoc County.

Six of the burglaries were reported Friday.

Christopher Walker and Cody Gillespie, both 18, and a 17-year-old male made their initital court appearance Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Leo Mask says because of the sluggish economy, families need to look out for criminal activity during the Christmas season.

"Get somebody to watch out. Everybody watch out for each others home. Watch out for your neighbor and get your neighbor to watch your home. Let everybody have an idea of what vehicles my be around while you're gone," Mask said.

Stolen property includes guns, video game consoles and money.

Deputies were able to recover some of the items.

Bond for each suspect is set at $50,000 and more arrests are pending.
