Special election in Ecru now moves to runoff

ECRU, Miss. (WTVA) - Two candidates will now go to a runoff in a race for alderman-at-large in the town of Ecru.

Four candidates were vying for the post that was left vacant when Jimmy Whitehead turned in his resignation due to his wife's health.

On Tuesday there was a special election

Town Clerk Gretchen Moody tells WTVA.com that candidates Bill Nance and Berlon Quillian will face each other in a runoff on September 10.

According to Moody here are the unofficial final results from Tuesday's special election:
Bill Nance - 70
Berlon Quillian - 53
Patrick Coker - 29
Whitney Smith - 25
