Postal worker pleads guilty in mail theft case

OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- An Ecru man awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to a federal charge of theft of mail by a postal service employee.

Steven Joslyn, 50, entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Oxford on Monday.

According to a federal indictment, Joslyn was working for the postal service when he opened mail and removed cash from inside the envelope.

Federal authorities say Joslyn was working for the Postal Service in Tupelo.

He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Joslyn will be sentenced at a later date.
