MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WTVA/WMC) -- A Pontotoc County sheriff's deputy has been placed on unpaid leave after he was indicted for a shooting in Memphis.
WMC Television is reporting John Logan was indicted by a Shelby County grand jury earlier this month.
Logan faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of employing a firearm to commit a felony.
He is accused of shooting Mark Martinez on Beale Street in April 2014 after the two got into a fight.
At the time of the shooting, Logan claimed three men had attacked him during a confrontation after a woman claimed one of them touched her inappropriately.
Logan is currently free on a $5,000 bond.
