No serious injuries in head-on collision

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) -- Pontotoc police are investigating a head-on collision that sent the driver of one vehicle to the hospital.

Police Chief Larry Poole says the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 15 south of Henry Southern Drive.

He says one of his officers witnessed a car heading south on the highway when it suddenly veered into the northbound land and collided with a pickup truck.

The driver of the car was taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital - Union County, but was not believed to be seriously injured.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Poole says both people were wearing seatbelts.
