More charges filed as burglary investigation continues

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two people arrested in a pair of weekend burglaries in Prentiss County are now facing more charges.

Sheriff Randy Tolar says James Reese Montgomery, 18, of Tupelo and Megan Amelia Dye, 21, of Pontotoc now face two additional charges of  burglary of a dwelling.

Tolar says the investigation is continuing and charges may be filed in neighboring counties.

He says deputies received calls of breakins at homes on County Road 5131 and 5331 over the weekend.

A tip from the public about suspicious activity near one of the homes lead to the arrests. reported it to authorities.
