ECRU, Miss. (WTVA) -- A police department in north Mississippi will soon have a brand new Dodge Charger at its disposal.
The town of Ecru is adding the new vehcile to its fleet of police cars.
Currently, the town has two used Dodge Chargers and two Crown Victorias that each have over 160,000 miles.
The town's police chief says the Dodge Charger works perfectly for the terrain and layout of Ecru.
"The Dodge Charger has the power to catch someone if we need to," said Police Chief Gary Chisholm. "It's economical for the small streets, getting in and out of the backroads and behind the apartments and stores and stuff."
The new Dodge Charger should be in service by the end of March.
