TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A group of fire trucks will be making their way around the city of Pontotoc on Friday.

They won't be the usual fire engine red, but instead they will be pink.

A national tour of pink-colored fire trucks is coming to Pontotoc to raise awreness for those battling cancer.

The trucks are from Memphis and Arizona and will visit schools and other locations in the city and county.

Recently, Pontotoc firefighters started a chapter called "Pink Hills Pontotoc." They have plans to paint one of their older pumper trucks from red to pink.

"We'll take it around to events. People with cancer or in honor of someone with cancer can sign the trucks," said David White, president of Pink Hills Pontotoc.
