PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) -- A landfill gas-to-electricity plant in Pontotoc County will officially be dedicated next week.

TVA officials say the facility at the Three Rivers Landfill will convert methane into nearly one megawatt of electricity.

The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. at the landfill on Highway 6.

TVA officials will also dedicate a natural gas-to-electricity facility in Benton County on Tuesday.

The ceremony at the Magnolia Combined Cycle Plant on Highway 4 west in Ashland is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
