Tips lead to armed robbery suspect's arrest

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- An armed robbery suspect is now in custody in Oktibbeha County.

According to the Starkville Police Department, Brian Buford, 29, of Maben, was wanted for the May 13 armed robbery of the Shell Gas Station on Highway 12 East and Jackson Street in Starkville.

Investigators say after releasing information, including video and pictures of the suspect to the media, they started getting tips from the community.

On Wednesday, May 22, Starkville Police, with assistance from the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Department, arrested Buford without incident.

Buford is being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
