STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A young man from Starkville is being held without bond, following a high speed chase.
According to the Starkville Police Department, 18-year-old Justin Roshan Yarbrough is charged with felony fleeing.
Investigators say on Tuesday, July 30, Yarbrough fled from police during a traffic stop near Garrard Road and Eutaw Drive.
Authorities say Yarbrough ignored lights and sirens and continued driving at speeds of 70 to 128 mph, speeding through intersections and residential areas with no regard to safety.
Due to the dangerously high speed Yarbrough was traveling, the Starkville Police Department officer terminated the pursuit and notified Oktibbeha County Deputies to continue to look for the vehicle.
A short time later, deputies located the suspect who abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.
Just after 5:45 p.m. on July 30, Yarbrough turned himself in to the Starkville Police Department on an outstanding warrant.
Yarbrough was served his warrant and transported to the Oktibbeha County Jail.
It was discovered that Yarbrough had been put on pre-trial Diversion for a previous charge.
