STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- A group of Mississippi State students are working to clean up a Starkville cemetery.

About four different Mississippi State student organizations came to Odd Fellows Cemetery Saturday to volunteer.

They raked up leaves, cleared out bushes and helped cut down tree limbs.

They did all of this to prepare the cemetery for new water fountains and benches that will be added.

One volunteer says these new additions will make the cemetery more family friendly.

"I think it makes it more personable," Generation 620 Campus Ministry member Brittany Keyes said. "It makes people feel more comfortable with coming out here and sitting, just basking in their loved ones' memories."

Keyes says Odd Fellows Cemetery is one of the biggest in Starkville.

She says there are a few former Mississippi State presidents buried there.
