STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- An investigation into a shooting in Starkville led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man Monday.

Starkville police say warrants were issued for the arrest of Steven Bryant Thomas Jr. after an incident of shots fired at two juveniles around the Armstrong Middle School and Whitfield Street the night of April 30.

Officers say Thomas turned himself in to authorities on two $50,000 warrants.

Authorities say Thomas appeared before Municipal Court Judge Rodney Faver and was later transported to the Clay County Jail.

He was charged with attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Thomas is currently on hold with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
