STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- It's a recovery effort and family members know it.

92-year-old Celia Craig Robson, 23-year-old Samuel Morris and 48-year-old Geraldine Bradford Rice all passed away in he fire.

"We're holding on the best that we can. We're asking your prayers and keep the family in prayer. Keep them lifted up," relative Julia Bradford said.

Geraldine Rice was a caretaker for Robson.

She was also a volunteer firefighter with the District Five Volunteer Fire Department. Those who served with her joined the ranks in the search.

"She was a really good person and my baby sister and I'm really going to miss her. I'm sorry the way this happened. We really don't know what's gonna happen in our life. We don't know how we're gonna leave this world or nothing," Rice's brother Robert Bradford said.

Law enforcement on the scene say they believe Samuel Morris and Geraldine Rice saved Celia Robson's elderly husband but died trying to rescue her.

Emergency responders say it was impossible to enter the home upon arrival.

"It was fully involved. No question. It was really going big and there was not a lot we could do. We did an aggressive fire attack, but it didn't make a lot of difference," Oktibbeha County Fire Coordinator A.K. Rosenhan said.

After a full night and then a long morning sifting through piles of debris, a final victim was found.

"We're worked through the night trying to (and) hoping to have some answers and maybe bring some closure to some things, but I know that's a nightmare for a family to wait, hope and pray that things will work out, but we have recovered three bodies. The investigation continues. I feel for the families," Oktibbeha County Sheriff Steve Gladney said.

Officials believe the fire started at the back of the house but they are unsure why.
